Building BI inside enterprise organizations.

As a developer and as a leader. Twenty years of it, ten in leadership, the rest hands-on. Most of that time at Comcast and Avaya, plus a recent year as a consultant building an Azure Synapse warehouse from the ground up.

Four through-lines across twenty years.

The categories of work that have shown up at every company I've been at — the things I keep being asked to do because I've done them before, and gotten better at each time.

Building enterprise data warehouses

Three companies, three different stacks. Designed and built EDWs at Avaya (global IT reporting), Comcast (the largest data mart in cable), and most recently A.Stucki (Azure Synapse with SAP ECC integration, built from the ground up).

Leading and scaling BI teams

Ten years in leadership at Comcast. After a restructuring, rebuilt the customer service & experience data team from two people to sixteen across the US and India. The cross-divisional work and the consolidation story are in the projects below.

Enabling business users at scale

Trained 500+ analysts for the Comcast Teradata migration. Designed a 2.5-day Data Science Practitioner program that Comcast's Technology Learning Group ran quarterly across the company. Owned the data mart 1,000+ business users depended on for 360° customer insights.

Hands-on engineering that ships

I've never stopped writing code. The Comcast customer data mart redesign delivered 10X performance and 36 months of trending — Teradata invited me to present at their conference. At A.Stucki, manual reporting moved from a 3–5 day cycle to a daily automated refresh.

The work I'd want to walk you through first.

Customer service & experience data products

Led data products and governance for the largest data mart in Comcast Residential Cable. The platform supported customer service, agent performance, commissions, incentives, and workforce management for 45,000 agents — billing, repair, retention, and inbound sales. After a restructuring I rebuilt the team from two people to sixteen across the US and India, then scaled the data mart to support 1,000+ active users.

Connecting HQ analytics to the West Division

Worked as the bridge between Enterprise BI and an 18,000-employee division. The data marts I built powered analytics across finance, marketing, tech operations, customer service, and Comcast Business. Trained 500+ analysts for the Teradata migration. Comcast's Technology Learning Group asked me to design a 2.5-day Data Science Practitioner program, which they then ran quarterly across the company. All of it fed into the consolidation of BI teams across three divisions.

360° customer data mart re-architecture

Owned data product development for the customer data mart that powered 360° customer experience reporting — 2+ billion records, 1,000+ attributes, the most-utilized analytics asset in the company. Redesigned the Teradata storage architecture. The new version was 10X faster, made 36 months of trending data queryable for the first time, and was noticeably easier for analysts to use. Teradata invited me to present the work at their company conference.
